I am thrilled to be the principal of Barbara Bush Elementary. I have been a part of this wonderful school since it opened in 1996. I was formerly a kindergarten teacher and then the assistant principal for nine years. It has been exciting to watch the progress and success of our students over the past twenty years. We have outstanding staff members and students, supportive parents and community involvement, and an active PTO which all work together as a family, contributing to the success of our school. I am looking forward to another exciting and successful school year. Please continue to visit our website to stay current with school events, school calendar, and our newsletter, The Bush Banner.
We are continuing to learn about Growth Mindset and how we can increase our intellectual abilities. Our brain is like a muscle that gets stronger with use. It is capable of growing and changing when confronted with new ideas. We improve, learn, and achieve excellence through outlook, hard work and effort. Challenges and mistakes are stepping-stones to improvement, not roadblocks to avoid. A big piece of growth mindset is having "grit." Grit is a combination of passion, resilience, determination, and focus that allows a person to maintain the discipline and optimism to persevere in their goals even in the face of discomfort, rejection, and mistakes. Our goal this year is to foster "grit" in our students. We will be "Growing With Grit!"Learn More
