Conferences:

Communication is very important for academic success and is very important to us!  Progress
reports will be sent to all students after the middle of each grading period.  Conferences are
offered twice a year (in the fall and late spring).  In addition, the teacher or parent may
schedule a conference on an as-needed basis.  Conferences can be done via telephone or
in person.  If you would like to schedule a conference or have any questions or concerns,
please send us a note or e-mail.  The daily planner may be used for communication as well.

Absences and Tardies:

The school day starts each morning at 8:00 a.m.  When students are released from the gym, they
will proceed to their classroom.  They must be in their seat for our televised announcements
beginning at 8:00.  If a student arrives after 8:05, a tardy slip from the office
will be required.

If your child should be absent from school, please send a note with the child on the day he or she
returns.  Students are expected to make up any work missed and will receive grades earned on
the work.  All students are given the same number of days to complete assignments as they were
absent.

Make-up work will not be given in advance.  However, when a student is absent for 3 or more
days, parents may request missing assignments by calling the school at 936-709-1600 prior to
9:00 a.m. and we will make every effort to get the work collected.  We will then leave the
assignments in the front office.
